Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm Review

Another lip balm review!

And I like this even more! Let me tell you why :D

 

FIRST reason why I am loving this is because it's 100% NATURAL!
It is always better when I get to use natural products. I mean, who doesn't like natural product??

For my first try on Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm, I chose vitamin E and peppermint (mainly because of the vitamin E). They have more flavours of lip balm for you to choose such as vanilla bean, wild cherry, coconut & pear, honey, etc.

 

 

 

What they claimed to do?
Beeswax conditions your lips.
Vitamin E moisturizes and act as antioxidant.
Peppermint gives you a refreshing tingling sensation.

 

I have been using this for almost a year now.
I like that it doesn't make my lips look glossy, it's just a natural healthy lips look (like just a bit shine/glow).
It also doesn't make my lips feel sticky or greasy.
It just moisturizes my lips sooooo well <3
I like the refreshing tingle from the peppermint too!
Oh, and it smells sooooo good! like chewing gum?

I don't know if I am the only one felt this, when ever I use lip balm or lipstick (especially lip balm) with lower quality or a lot of bad chemicals, they always make my front teeth area felt uncomfortable, the feeling was like something was on my teeth, like some kind of film form on my teeth, I don't really know how to describe it but anyway, it's just uncomfortable. But I don't have any problem like that with this lip balm!

Unlike the SkinFood Avocado Lip Balm (click it to read my review on the product) which is in a tub, this is in a tube! Which makes it much more hygienic and easy to use!

 

Although it is a bit pricy than normal lip balm in the market, but I think it's definitely worth the money. I also let my friends (guys and girls) tried it and they liked it too!

Based on Burt's Bee Malaysia website, the price of the lip balm is RM25.50.

EGO SUNSENSE Daily Face SPF50+

When I first saw this and read the description on the product in Guardian store, I was like ohhh, this must be a good product!

 

 

Well, it still is of course. I liked the fact that it has high SPF to protect me from UVA and UVB, free oil-based which is wonderful for combination & oily skin like me and free from paraben & frangrance which will be good for sensitive skin.

However, unfortunately, I don't like to use it. I didn't even manage to emptied it and it's already expired :(

Why I don't like it? Because it gives sheer finish. ''Sheer tint for an invisible matt finish'' it says (on the product), but its not matt, well, for me. It's just too sheer for me and it makes me feel like it's ''oily" on my face(instead of dewy)..
It has no coverage so for people like me that have acne scars, it's just....no... because after I put on this then apply my makeup, my makeup just CAN'T adhere well.

Anyway, if you have nice and smooth skin and you want a sheer and dewy look, you can give it a try! :)

Yuan Heart leaf Houttynia Soap and Yuan Sishen Chinese Herbs Soap review

Yup, I am a fan of Yuan Soap! Since I've started using Yuan Soap, it never disappoint me, well, so far. I just can't stop loving this organic soap! My face condition has improved a lot, excluding days where I have hormonal acnes and days where I stayed up super late! XD

OKAYYY, back to the review.
I'll start with Yuan Heart Leaf Houttynia Soap 阿源鱼腥草皂

Product description in Chinese.

It claimed to:

--Rejuvenate skin

--Gently purify skin which let your pores 'breathe freely'.

 

This might be the least favourite among the Yuan soap I've tried. Of course it is not because it gave me adverse effect. It is because I don't see much improvement on my skin condition. It still did what it claimed somehow, my clogged pores problem was a little better.

 

Ingredients: Houttuynia juice (houttuynia cordata), Napier grass juice (Pennisetum purpureum), Tea Tea Oil (Melaleuca Alternifolia), Eucalyptus Oil, olive oil(Olea europeoa, coconut oil(Cocos Nucifera).

 

Price: RM35.90

 

 

 

Yuan Sishen Chinese Herbs Soap 阿原四神皂

It claimed to help dry and rough skin to have softer skin with improved elasticity. Well, as usual, it does what it claimed. My skin is softer and smoother! This one definitely moisturize my skin, although not much because it is not as drying compare to other Yuan soap especially Yuan Lemon.

But since I have acne prone skin with acne scars, I will not repurchase this any sooner because I want to get rid my acne scars first as this soap does not help on fading the scaring, well, not for me at least.

Senka Perfect Gel Makeup Remover Rinse off/Wipe off review

The reason why I bought this was because I saw a youtuber gave good review on the cleasing foam, so when I bought that foam cleanser, I thought I might as well try this. Plus, the price is very affordable.

I am not satisfied with this makeup remover.
Firstly, it don't remove all makeup.
light/base makeup(in my case=primer,sunblock,powder products), yup, it can remove them quite well.
But liquid eyeliner, etc, nope. UNLESS I rub harshly then yup,it can be remove quickly.
So, I only use this when I don't apply any eye and lip makeup(in order to not wasting it).

Next, I don't like it because it makes my face feel greasy. So I have to wash my face with cleanser afterward which I will do it anyway with other makeup remover, but for this product, I have to cleanse my face twice because the first time, the foam from the cleanser will be greatly reduced cause by the 'greasy-ness'. I wash for the second time to confirm my face is clean.

SkinFood Banana Yogurt Mask Wash Off review

I've actually finished using it! I used it 1-2times per week. It lasted for around 6months++. I normally just applied a thin layer all over my face or just U-zone so it lasted longer for me. It smells totally like banana! sweet!

 

 

The texture is quite runny so you have to be careful with it. It contains little yellow beads that will act as gentle exfoliate. The beads can be melted/crushed(not sure if I described it right but my point is it is not the hard and harsh type of beads).

 

 

 

This mask is for sensitive skin. It contains banana extracts. I've sensitive, super acne-prone and combination skin. My U-zone/cheeks are a bit dry so sometimes I will just apply on U-zone to soothe and hydrate. When I have acne on my cheeks(which happened a lot of times), I will also use this mask to soothe those bad acne. Redness reduced too!! Using this mask will actually help prevent patchiness on my cheeks and my face got smoother so... makeup adhered well :)

 



SkinFood Avocado Lip Balm Review

For those who have chapped lips problem * pat on your shoulder* I understand your feeling :'(
I tried several lip balm products in the market. So far, this is the best.

 

Lip balm that I used before make my lips even worst. My lips will become drier and chapped more :'(

For this, my lips are moisturized. It last long and I have to reapply it after a few hours especially after having meals/drinks. Apply it before you go to bed and you'll have soft plump kissable lip on the next morning! *muackss* The scent are ok, sweet scent. Product's scent doesn't bother me much.

The texture are just like most of lip balm in the market--creamy, buttery.
I like the color and the design of the product, GOLD and vintage, who doesn't like gold color XD
I really love this lip balm but the only downside of it is...it is in a tub :'(  Hygienic is very important for me, before I apply it, I have to wash my hand or use wet tissue to clean my hand 1st. So it is quite annoying.


Price: RM28 (12g)

Repurchase? most probably not because of the tub packaging :(

The Face Shop Pure Water Facial Mist (Jeju Marine) review

 

 

I used this as my toner too sometimes, especially when I'm out, I normally would bring this with me when I went swimming :D swim can make your skin dry,well, mine at least. So I will use this to freshen up my face after swim. I also used this if I'm out in the hot sun (It's Malaysia,so,yeah,hot!) It makes my face feels a lot fresher and cool.

YADAH Moisturising Cactus Mist (fruit garden) review & repurchase update

I got attracted by this cute design! haha. then I started to read the description on the box. It used organic cactus extract(Opuntia) to soothes skin problems. then I thought 'hmmm, I should give it a try' and so I bought it!



I used this as my toner or sometimes as my light moisturizer, depends. But this is not my everyday toner/moisturizer. I use it only when I feel my skin needs it. 

If my face is a bit dry and red, I will use this as a light moisturizer and to soothes my skin. And oh, this is a good product for acne and sensitive skin, which I have! It didn't break me out.

what it claimed:

*24hour moisturizer

*containing 3% of Opuntia extract to ease damaged skin.

*ease acne

well, I did use it to soothes my acne and dry skin. It works well! I will definitely try other products of Yadah as I read their website, Yadah produce hypoallergenic and low-chemical plant-derived products. I always love to choose products that minimise the use of chemicals! 

Main ingredient: water, Opuntia extract, Betaine, Glycerin.

Price: around RM22+- at Sasa.


UPDATE!! (10/10/2014)

Tadaaaa! I repurchased, TWO! I got the fruit garden scent for my brother since I already tried it before.. I'm really liking the Lime scent. If u like refreshing scent then get this one XD

Btw, they are the same,its just the scent that's different :)

Burt's Bee Natural Acne Solutions Targeted Spot Treatment review

I LOVE THIS!!! I've tried a lot of acne treatment products but this is definitely the best that I've ever tried. This is my 3rd bottle!!!

 

 

This is 100% NATURAL (Natural Products Association certified). I love the fact that it is natural :D

It is a acne treatment that contains salicylic acid(0.75%) derived naturally from willow bark extract which contains natural beta hydroxy acids, which acts as a skin exfoliator to help unclog pores.

It is also formulated with Tea Tree, Calendula, Yarrow, and Parsley Extracts to help calm and reduce redness while Borage Extract promotes healthy skin.

 

 

what it claimed

- Clinically proven to help reduce the appearance of blemishes in 48 hours

- Non-irritating

- Soothes skin and reduces redness

- Noncomedogenic

 

It basically does what it claimed but for the "48hours", it depends on the acne. For huge and cystic acnes, it might need much longer time. For my own experiences, huge and cystic acnes took up to 1 week to disappear, sometimes longer. For normal acnes or pimples, it will takes 2-3days. ANYWAY, the important point is IT WORKS! (well, for me, hehe, everyone is different)

I had sensitive and serious acne skin problems and I tried so many products, some worked for a little while, some even make my skin worst! but this works the best so far!

Yuan soap and this spot treatment were the main products that helped me to get rid of my horrible acnes!

 

It does not make my skin dry so I can actually apply this right before my makeup and it wont cause any effect such as cakey or makeup doesn't stick on to my skin. It absorbs super quick!

*oh, don't use cotton swabs to apply this, use your clean fingertip or else you'll waste the product!*

 

Ingredients:

Active Ingredient: Salicylic Acid (0.75%) Inactive Ingredients: alcohol denat., citrus medica limonum (lemon) peel oil, water, calendula officinalis flower extract, achillea millefolium (yarrow) extract, borago officinalis (borage) extractcarum petroselinum (parsley) extract, foeniculum vulgare (fennel) fruit oil, salix nigra (willow) bark extract, melaleuca alternifolia (tea tree) leaf oil, eucalyptus globulus leaf oil, juniperus communis fruit oil.

 

Price: RM78 at Burt's Bee store (Price might be different at Sephora, I bought it at RM69 but not sure if they increased the price recently because Burt's Bee store increased the price to RM78 from RM68)

Yuan Soap review - Lemon

YUP YUP YUP~ another Yuan Soap review! haha :D

 

This is actually a repurchase. I finished the 1st one and it's soooo good that I have to repurchase this! 
I finished it during my exam week, it took me 2 weeks to go to the mall(I bought this at midvalley) to repurchase it, had breakouts without this :'(

So, lets get in to the topic!

Lemon soap is for oily skin with large pores.
what it claimed
- brightens skin by removing old/dead skin cells
- tightens pores
- lightens pigmentation
- control sebum production

well... it does what it claimed! or else I wouldn't get another one XD
I noticed that it brightens my skin and my acne scars are less visible now. I have large and clogged pores especially at my nose and cheeks area (I believed that a lot of people are having the same problems), I noticed that my skin is getting better.

However, I don't recommend this to acne skin, but if you have acne-prone skin (like me), maybe you can give it a try :) Because you might want to solve your acne problem first then only you switch to this, just like I did. Normally I will change my skincare when my skin's condition changed.

I also don't recommend this to dry skin.

This soap will be great for people that stay in hot and humid places and need a refreshing soap (like me, in Malaysia =.= HOT! HOT! HOT! )
