Dinner at Spade's Burger!

When I said I'm going to eat burger and fries, my friends often think that I'm going to eat fast food...again (because I fancy fries TOO MUCH :'D ).

Well, it's not, definitely NOT THIS TIME!

It's going to be much much much healthier than common fast food burgers, I promise!
No more guilt or whatsoever.

Spade's Burger.

Their restaurant look like this. Simple.

Then, I went to the counter, I was like, hmmm..how....to choose =.=

My friend and I then saw this chart, thank god, super helpful. *thumbs up*

So, I ordered this.

Hot Hawaiian (Pork). RM 14.

To make it a set (fries + free refill soft drinks), just add RM 5.5

They handmade the patties 100% without fillers and additives. Like duh~ how great is that!
Well, for a burger and fries lover, it is.

Since they serve higher quality food, so I expected the prices to be higher than fast food. Prices are still acceptable for me, worth it.

What's there?
Fluffyyyyyy charcoal bread.
Thick and juicy patty.
Fresh vege.
Cherry tomatoes (crushed).
Pineapple ring.
Cheddar.
Cheese crisp.
Red hot sauce.

I didn't expect the patty to be thick and juicy like this. Really love it. Not forgetting the fluffy charcoal bread, it's good too. Normally the vege in fast food burgers are not fresh and don't taste good, but this, definitely fresh. Cherry tomatoes in burger? That's kinda good. They also make their own sauces. For this, its not too spicy for me.

Fries time.
They're so good! I mean, look at the potato skin. I believe they're made from the scratch. They sprinkled parsley and salt for seasoning, definitely made the fries tasted a lot better.

These are the two types of sauces that they provided. Spade's sauce and Red Hot sauce.

Oh, and for the drinks, you get to choose Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Light, Ice Lemon Tea, Sprite, Fanta Grape and Aquarius. (Not sure if the choices will be changed)

The staffs were friendly when they're taking orders. It was dinner time, so the restaurant was quite full with customers but when we were leaving, it's almost emptied.

I'll definitely visit there again when I've the chance. Highly recommended.

Spade's Burger (Pulau Tikus)

DimSum time at Max Gourmet!

I have been to this restaurant for about four times. I absolutely love it! Highly recommended!
All the dim sum tasted so good! Prices are very reasonable!

So, here comes my top favourite dim sum in Max Gourmet (well, that I have tried so far)!
Yam cake 芋头糕 RM3.00
Yam is sooooo yummy. As dim sum, it still is! I like that it's just plain and soft. What makes it better, the toppings are green onions and fried red onions. I love BOTH.

Next,
Fried radish cake 炸萝卜糕 RM3.20
This tasted so good too. It's crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. It's not too greasy :)
Well, if you don't prefer fried radish cake, there's another option for radish cake.

Steamed Radish cake 清蒸萝卜糕 RM3.80
It's dipped in soy sauce and topped with green onion. I personally don't like soy sauce, but the radish cake itself is plain and soft. I still like it.

Crystal prawn dumpling 水晶饺 RM4.30
If u want to eat some prawn dumpling :)  But nothing much going on with this. Bland. I ordered this just because I like it's clear skin (honestly). Probably will not eat this again.

Siew Mai 烧卖 RM2.40
How could you miss any siew mai right? But this one, somehow tasted a bit.. 'MSG'? Not my favourite but it's still okay.

BBQ pork bao (bun) & Lotus bao (bun) & Red bean bao (bun) RM1.40 EACH
叉烧包 & 莲蓉包 & 豆沙包
okay, RM1.40, that a really good and fair price. In this picture, it's only BBQ pork and Lotus bao but I have tried their red bean bao before too. I've always love red bean bao but nonetheless, their red bean bao is good, love it. For all these bao, they are quite generous with the fillings. The buns themselves are soft and fluffy enough!
BBQ pork (char siew) bao

Lotus bao

Glutinous rice with chicken meat 糯米鸡 RM3.20
Honestly, this don't look good visually. But the taste is okay, not bad. But probably will not order this again.

Lunch at Fresh Bite Asian Fusion!

My friend and I had less than two hours to spend before movie, and we were starving. So, after thinking for a long time, Fresh Bite it is!

Fresh Bite served different types of Asian food. Lot of choices! So, if you have no idea where to eat, this is a good choice!

You can buy their famous hong kong pastries here too!

Because it’s lunch time, the restaurant was a bit noisy and seats were quite full. However, the waiters were still very attentive.

Anyway, here’s what we ordered.

Sizzling Kimchi Sliced Pork served with rice and kimchi soup. RM15.90. Value set.

I absolutely love this!! It’s sweet and a bit spicy, just a bit. They used  고추장 (gochujang) for the sauce and also added a bit sugar (That’s why sweet). The meat was well cooked, chewy! The fats, OMG, kinda melt in my mouth. YUM!

I liked the kimchi too as it’s a bit crunchy. It’s sour with a hint of spiciness.

The kimchi soup was sour, too (as it should be). The vegetables (chinese cabbage) were cooked until very soft. Dissolved in my mouth right away!

Fried Pork and Mixed Vegetables with special brown sauce. Rm14.90

The meat was a bit too dry for my liking. The brown sauce was a bit bland. They used 豆瓣酱 (bean sauce/paste), oyster sauce and chicken stock for the sauce.

Dinner at Pizzaiola!

So, where/what should we eat? Popular and simple question yet it’s still very tough to answer.

My friend and I were walking around the town and searching for food. She then recalled that her friend had good review on a restaurant nearby, so we headed there right away.

Pizzaiola. It’s an Italian restaurant located in Perangin Mall.

A waitress warmly greeted and explained to us about the food and current promotion they’re having.
I also liked that the dimmed lighting in the restaurant (not good for photographing tho), nice environment!

So, here’s the deal.

It’s a semi buffet. Spend AT LEAST RM18 per person and you get to enjoy UNLIMITED starter, appetiser, salad, pastry/dessert and ONE ice cream (unfortunately this is not unlimited). So as we have two people, we ordered two main courses that totalled up to RM36 (at least).

Here’s what we ordered.

Salmone Affumicato Pizza.
Topped with smoked salmon slice, onion slices, avocado & mozzarella cheese. RM25.80.

I love this! We had the original pizza crust, it’s thick and soft! But you can choose thin crust if u want! I liked that the sides/edges of the pizza was a bit crunchy. And OMG, they were quite generous on the salmon topping. A lot of cheese too (good for cheese lover!). Bad side of having a lot of cheese, it’s a bit salty. But it’s still acceptable for me.

Piccante Di Funghi Olio Spaghetti.
Sauté abalone mushroom & chicken ham with garlic & chilli flakes. RM11.80

The spaghetti was a bit hard(undercooked). When I first tasted it, I was like hmmm, this tastes familiar but what’s it… then I try it again, GOT IT, it tasted EXACTLY like mee goreng! So, nothing special on this actually, basically I won’t order this again if I visit here next time.

Here’s the semi buffet part.

Mushroom soup and bread

The bread was not garlic bread, it’s just plain dried bread. It’s not a very concentrated mushroom soup, tasted quite bland so for people that don’t really like mushroom soup (like me), this is ok!

Salad

OMG. The salad was a huge disappointment. Most of the salads’ edges already turned yellow.

Aiyu Jelly

This is nice! Not too sweet or sour. Just nice. I like the jelly!!
Cake

It’s sponge cake! With a bit of cream in the middle. The cakes were not too dry. There’re two flavours, vanilla and chocolate. They’re just plain sponge cakes but I still liked them!
I ate 5!!!

Ice cream!!!

It’s OREO!!! LOVE IT! (I hope they can give bigger portion :D )
